1. He doesn't say it every game.

2. When he does say it, it's respect for the other team and their capabilities.

3. Especially with young teams that get overconfident and let up (like we saw yesterday) he is sending a message.

4. "We always come up short." Are you fricking kidding me? Check the record. Pinkel has won more games than any Tiger coach in history and is second only to Dan Devine in winning percentage.

Devine last coached Mizzou in 1970, just to give you context.
