A point made in the opinion piece I posted that I hadn't really considered was how often James Franklin would sustain drives on 3rd down by running the ball -- Franklin was often our defacto "big back". Mauk's not built to run on a regular basis, so it only makes his apparent weakness on the short-to-intermediate routes more glaring.

Henson's going to have to partially re-invent how this offense gets things done, particularly in certain down and distance situations, and he's go a month to do it. So it should be interesting to see how things evolve.
