Gus is demonstrating the love of Jesus by extending grace and mercy. I think maybe you are just bad at theology.

God's love will be expressed in the most joyous way possible with a mercy knee early in the 4th when we get into the 60s

Who said anything about him abandoning God?

God said, "Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed which is upon the face of all the earth" … And God saw everything that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. (Genesis 1:29-31)

God I hope so. Auburn finally has a coach willing to go this route.
