Nope, called grilling or smoking. The sauce or the rub make it BBQ. If you put chicken on a grill with no sauce, it's just grilled chicken.
If you put a ham in the smoker, that's not BBQ

In some regions yes. But I think that in most of the South you will find the term grill used more.

I think we'll just have to agree to disagree on this one.

But how often do you hear "Hey, CSA, wanna come over this Saturday for a grill?" or "I'm having a grill for the game this weekend."? Even when the plans are just burgers (etc.) it's often called a barbecue when cooking outdoors.
