I've been saying it for years: quit playing so many cupcake games. And my alma mater is guilty as anyone.
The SEC needs to go to
9 games and require 1 OOC against a P5. And stipulate that the remaining 2 games cannot be against a FCS school.
This will go a long way to fixing things

Agreed. And I'd say 9 games and 2 OOC against P5. One powder puff.

hell, you guys play the worst OOC schedule I've ever seen. you play no one. I understand the SEC west is brutal but y'all should at least schedule one tough OOC every year.
