Has Auburn actually had counterfeit ticket problems recently?

Auburn enacts measures against counterfeit tickets/scalping

Since when was this actually a problem and how does solving this "problem" not create entirely more problems for Auburn's constituents?

Clearly to me, this is the City of Auburn trying to make an additional dime at the expense of scalpers by requiring a permit. This isn't to keep fans from purchasing counterfeit tickets or to keep counterfeiters off the street. This is to benefit the City of Auburn and should be labeled as such.

I know there was a big problem with them at the 2009 IB.

IIRC, there were whole rows that had two sets of tickets and two sets of people wanting to sit there.
I think it was the lower bowl, west side. I just remember all of the people bitching to the po po when I was going to my seats.

I respectfully disagree. I think it's more of a case of the City trying to cut down on the number of people scalping tickets around campus. Some of those guys are alright, but some of them can get super douchey and aggressive and down right combative with people.
This ordinance does nothing to stop fans from selling to each other, just trying to reign in the "professionals".
