I worked from home at an old job. I learned that I'm a lazy, terrible employee when allowed to work from home. If had been required to be on the computer or phone all day, it would have been fine, but it was more a work at your pace on your time deal. I usually didn't even log on until after lunch.

Ditto.

Too many distractions.

Have the ability to work from home pretty much at will but chose not to for this reason. I would be fired after a couple of months.

We'll see how it goes.

My boss is pretty hesitant to make this switch. The main office is 2 hours away in SAn Antonio and I think their just worried about the lack of phone system in place to just reach out and ping me. It was an easy way for them to make sure I was at the office.

When we took the job it was advertised as a lot of travel but working from home. Then after the hire they got a way too large and way too fancy office. They were pretty hands on because the last 2 people have parted under shady circumstances and I think they just didn't want to get burned.

The last guy worked from home as well and they found out that he was working for a competitor while double dipping working for them, but since he could take the cell with him, they didn't know the difference.

He actually got caught going to a current customer of ours presenting himself as my company while trying to get them to sign the contract for the competitor.
