Panhellenic sororities pledged 21 new black members on Bid Day Saturday, August 28.

Whoa ho ho. Really waving the flag for racial understanding and tolerance over there in Tuscaloosa. That's almost a handful!

Glass houses..several SEC schools have little room to talk. But I fully admit Alabama has set back what gains it had made on that front with recent events.

quote:

AUBURN, Alabama -- In terms of integrating its Greek system, Auburn University is slightly ahead of its arch rival, the University of Alabama, which is still dealing with fallout from a sorority segregation scandal this year.
Of 1,188 women rushing Auburn's 17 predominantly white sororities this fall, three were black, says Greek life director Jill Moore.

And all three were among the 1,059 who received bids to join one or more of the sororities, raising the total black membership among the 17 organizations to five as of today.
