UVA and UNC will not let their mens soccer and lacrosse programs go to shite just to join the SEC. Its simply too important to them.

They can always play those sports in the conference/league they're already in. Several SEC schools play sports in other conferences...

SCe plays men's soccer in CUSA, Mizzou wrestles in the MAC etc...

Vt and NCstate may actually be the better choice in the long run. They are bigger schools then either UVA or UNC so therefore produce more alumni which in turn means more TVs.

But for it to happen BIG10 would have to come knocking for UVA. Then VT and UVA would have to pressure the state to dissolve the law that the schools have to be in the same athletic conference. I could actually see that happening as the BIG 5 break away from the small conferences.

I agree... its possible. However, in my opinion thats indicative of a weakness in the scope of our conference. The SEC should develop elite competition in all major Div I sports. We simply need to develop league play in both of those sports and all SEC member schools need to be on board.
