When you beat Alabama, you received your well-earned respect.

Then you lost to Florida State. Nobody cares about how many rushing yards you had. Only in TnM world was the AU/Bama winner CLEARLY the better team, but the FSU/AU winner was an upset by the inferior opponent. Wake up.

No. Auburn didn't get respect until it beat Missouri. People were still claiming that Missouri was going to beat Auburn in the championship game.

As for "snuck up on". If a top 10 team, like Auburn at the end of the year when they played UGA, Bama, Missouri, and FSU, sneaks up on you then you have a dumb HC. You can claim Auburn snuck up on a few teams early but after Ole Miss and A&M, no one can use that excuse. Its just another lame excuse for people to use to belittle Auburn winning last year.
