Seinfeld final episode did 41.3 with 76 million people
Auburn/fsu 15.3
Alabama/texas am 2013 9.0

I'm thinking the launch this afternoon might break Super Bowl records.
Finebaum will shatter the records as well.

Way high. A 7.0 rating, essentially, means that 7% of all TV HHs are viewing something. That won't happen for the SEC Network unless there is a big game being aired.
The actual ratings, when ESPN subscribes to Nielsen for SECN, will likely be more in the 1.3-2.2 range for sign on to sign off average with daily spikes around 3.5-4.2 range (again, unless a game is on).

Damn that sucks. Would be nice to know what the bigger games get. I would assume over a 2.

I think the comment was they wanted to let the network grow before measuring it. I do think it's fairly standard with new networks but there are rarely networks that have this big of a launch.
My guess is they must have already sold out advertising at whatever rate they were asking and all the carriage agreements are for more than 1 year. So why bother?
