re: Ole Miss: Why the hell do you think you're going to be so damn good this year?

So, we beat LSU again? That works for me.

In my opinion, this year's Ole Miss squad will be a lot like 2009. A lot of high expectations at the beginning of the season, with a mediocre finish.

That's just it tho - our (and the media pundit's) expectations at their peak are only AT MOST 3rd in the SEC West

But damn any kid in Memphis who gets sucked in by DeVinner we don't have a chance with. Dude wrote a FB post a year or two ago, saying how much he hated UT, dogging our coaches, but then turned around and said he would never ever steer a kid away just because of his own hate (guess, he wanted to leave things open for the bagmen - cuz it's bizness ). Fortunately, for us parents in Memphis are on to him but that guy takes advantage of those who are without adult guidance. Overall tho' he's lost a lot of influence.
DeVinner has had so much publicity over the last few years that I'd think most programs would steer clear of him and his runners.

I mean how good is "so damn good" ?? ... Thinking we'll potentially win 9 or 10 games?

but Mizzou had to go to great lengths to prove that they're not ready for the SEC just yet
Winning the division and beating every team by 15+ points on average = not ready for SEC. Got it.
(Obviously USCe is excluded from that second part)

So we finish in the top 20 with 9 wins. Exactly whAt everyone is predicting. Way to step out on that ledge

Why ole miss won? 3 interceptions
Yes. We played better football than your team did. That's how these things we call "sports" work.

OM fans have been cautiously optimistic and for good damn reason.
Ole Miss fans are either stupidly optimistic or irrationally pessimistic. There is no middle ground. The folks on this board trend towards the latter.

DeVinner isn't quite a bagman though I don't know what exactly to call him - I mean he DOES participate in bagman activities like transferring cash to the kids sometimes but mostly he uses them to get money and doesn't bother giving them much. I agree with your points about DeVinner tho'. He was and is a guy that tries to collect stables of football players - those who don't have parents or adults in their lives - and then takes $$ for taking them on visits and even more $$$ for steering them to a school. However, because of his bad publicity and the general knowledge of what he does he's fading.
Thank goodness people are wise to him now and he's losing his 'business' more and more. A guy like that, making money off of kids who don't have any adults to rely on in their lives is just scum, IMNSHO.

You have SEC blinders my friend. Mizzou is in the top 10 in wins over the last five years, but we haven't been in the SEC so you didnt know that.
After a few more years of Mizzou being competitive you might realize that we are legit, or maybe you'll continue living in your SEC cave and disregard all of our success

For the non mouth-breathers, yeah, pretty much. Clearly you don't want to believe it
8.5 wins in the regular season is the current Vegas over/under.
Personally, I think we win 9 regular season games with an outside shot @ 10. We are more likely 8-4 than 10-2, but that range seems appropriate.
