Gimmick offenses have a short shelf life in the SEC. Auburn is a gimmick school with gimmick coaches. I had some respect for Tubby because he believed in old school smash mouth football. Today's Auburn? Not so much.

Malfunctions offense is basically smash mouth football. Marshall only threw it like what? 10-12 times a game? They pulled a guard, had a fullback, and ran it right up the heart of the defense. When the JACK or DE would bite, Marshall would take it and run. The defense has to also account for the speedster coming on a sweep, who is also another threat for a option. They don't run a gimmick offense.

If it's a gimmick why were we able to put 30+ points on two of the top 4 defenses in college football? You mean to tell me that Florida St and Alabama's defense couldn't shut down a gimmick? Especially for Saban, that was the 4th time he coached against a Malzahn offense you mean to tell me it's a gimmick and Saban still hadn't figured out a way to shut it down by the 4th game? Bull.
