I really don't expect much out of this year's team. Both UGA and AUB have bye weeks before the matchups, and while I think USC has no reason to expect a loss, UGA will throw everything they have at Spurrier and Co. It didn't fall in USC's favor last year.

Until I witness a victory over Auburn, I can't predict one will actually happen.

@UF is no picnic, as evidenced by our last game there.

I wouldn't be stunned to see a 7-5 type season. I hope like hell I'm wrong.

Seriously? Have you seen our schedule before we play AU? It goes @UK, BYE, Furman. We'll have plenty of time to counter prepare for them.

UGA will be introducing a new QB into Williams-Brice and it's not like we won't throw everything we have back at UGA after last year's loss.

Even if we had a bad year ever Gamecock alive should be stunned if we went 7-5 this year.

Thompson scares the shite outta me, man. He really does. He's performed well in spot duty, but there have been other games where he's been kind of a mess. If Shaw were still here, I wouldn't be nearly as concerned.

I freely admit that that I have a lot of "Old Carolina" in me. The last several years have helped in that regard, but I have concerns at D-line, DB, and QB. I think UGA vs USC is strength vs strength, as their running game is up against USC's linebackers. I believe that USC has a coaching edge against UF and Clemmy, but that both of those games are on the road is concerning.

It's the sneaky games that are also of concern, and it seems that every year USC loses to someone they absolutely shouldn't. UTK hasn't been an easy out for USC, at all, even when USC clearly had the better team. Vandy and UK road trips are somewhat concerning.

Everyone agrees that Auburn is going to be no cakewalk. So, at least we're all on the same page there.

So, yeah, a catastrophic season would be losses to UGA, UF, Clemmy, Auburn, and one of aTm, UTK, Vandy. 7-5. Don't want it, ain't looking for it, won't put money on it, but wouldn't be stunned. That's all I said.

Conversely, I think Roland is going to shine this year. So will Moore. If Davis' weight isn't an issue, I think USC has the best stable of backs (YES, THAT INCLUDES YOU, UGA) in the conference behind what should be a very good line. Cooper is going to be fun to watch, and it seemed like the light went on for Byrd last year. There's a whole helluva lot to be excited and optimistic about, and if the team beats those that they should and doesn't have a WTF loss a la UTK or Aub '11, I think 11-1 is also a great possibility with a spot in the playoff.

Sorry to be so long, but yeah, I've got two minds on this season.
