Family vacation. Dog going too. Any good recommendations?

You're going to Helen, Ga for vacation?
Stop at the gas station and fill up with has there on your way to the apple festival. That's the only thing I've done in Helen, Ga.

Yep. Outside of Helen really. Rented a Cabin.
I know there's not much there. That's the point.

I'm with ya. There's nicer places like that, where there's... better stuff that's not there?? I don't know. Have fun. I'm sure it'll be relaxing.

Lake Lanier is close by. Do you like to fish? How much money did you bring with you?

Unicoi State Park, camp grounds, cabins, hotel all good.
Be sure to go to Ana Ruby Falls, very reasonable walk in a prepared and guided nature trail with many rest stops if needed.
Alpine Honey sold by "Something" Kettle, located near the big turn in the road just past the intersection of the turn towards Unicoi, Habershan Winery and The Gourd Place was pretty cool too.

Brasstown Bald isn't too far away. I'd do that while you were in the area.

Helen is GA country but there are a lot of fan bases there repped well. Most any shop you go in will have shite for every SEC team. Not much Barking
Did you use Blueridge Cabins?
Yes if Tubing or Hiking are your thing there are plenty of options.

Go tubing on the Chattahoochee, it's pretty inexpensive and a lot of fun. If you have kids, there are several places nearby that you can pan for gold or for fossils. My sister lives near Helen, my kids always loved going up there when they were younger

The Troll Tavern under the bridge in town has pretty good food and a nice view. Cabbage patch doll nursery is 10 minutes down the road in Cleveland and I believe is free to just walk around. If you have small children it would be a good way to spend an hour or two.

This is the only thing I thought about when I read the thread title.

Light farts for fun....I don't actually get the whole Helen Bavarian thing. Doesn't work for me. Just go out to the mountains and find something to do. But if you like schnitzel them have at it!!!

Plenty of good hiking in the area. Let me know if you need some suggestions.

Outdoor stuff. The town is a cheesy tourist trap with a bunch of shitty restaurants and bars.
