Should this happen again?
absolutely not. A bull elephant in BDS would be an episode of "When Animals Attack" on TBS.

Mike would tear that chicken to shreds

Speaking of mascots, who in the Wide Wide World of Sports came up with the "Pelicans"?

Memphis has a pretty cool one to be honest:
Tom the Tiger

Mike the Tiger, and it's not close.
Unless somebody decides to adopt the Crazy Nasty-Assed Honey Badger.

What if Ole Miss had actual Rebels on the field?

We used to have one a very long time ago. I'm thinking insurance is a problem.

quote:
"Later that year [1978], we went down to play the Bengal Tigers in Baton Rouge. Just prior to the game, I was out on the field while the team was dressing and I noticed that out of the end zone came LSU's mascot, Mike the tiger, in a cage. The LSU fans went berserk, especially when the cheerleaders poked him in the ribs. They stuck a microphone up to the cage and he let out a big roar.
"They rolled the cage toward the 50-yard line, where the tiger normally stays during a game—and right in his path was Uga III, which really infuriated the tiger. He ran up to the front of his cage and let out a loud roar—but ol' Uga just sat there. That really made the tiger mad. He got up on his hind legs, rattled the cage, and roared even louder. When the tiger did that, Uga raised up, took two steps forward, and barked—at which time the tiger sheepishly retreated to the back of the cage.

I think it's a bit insane that we have a live tiger that we bring onto the field
bama could one up us with the elephant, or UF could win it all with a live gator in front of where the opposing team comes out the tunnel

Uga isn't even the best dog mascot. Give it up. Smokey actually bites people.

Bama would run away with this if they got a live elephant. Make it happen.
