So much want.
Hopefully we can turn this UV into another UV over the summer and an OV in the fall. Then we'll take his commitment and Mangus will be made HCIW.

3* WR Bryan Edwards commits to SC!
https://www.hudl.com/athlete/1618858/highlights/199903376/v2
Here are his Jr Highlights. He's a big target that does a good job of getting open, he has a quick first step but not lights out top end speed. He also had a lot of great examples of blocking. He plays with a lot of swagger as well.

Here's a write up on him I did a while back, he's a really good player, he just recently got bumped up to a 4*. I think if he does the camp circuit this summer, we'll have to fight off some other schools for him.

Jr Year Highlight Reel
I can't figure out why he's a 3* and only has 5 offers, I could only speculate on the reason. However, he's a fantastic RB. He has SEC level speed for a RB, but his best attributes are his acceleration and cutting. He also can't be tackled with one arm or very well up high. He pumps his feet quickly coming through the line. He falls forward on contact. He breaks off tackles and gets two hands on the ball on contact. He can catch the ball, he can adjust his body in mid-air to make catches. He runs north south, but breaks out to the sides with his shoulders facing downfield. He moves laterally extremely well. He runs the ball out of the wildcat, he can run up the middle, he has good hands and can catch a sweep on the run.
I'm just really impressed. I would think his offer list would be huge, I'm curious why it isn't. It's going to be a battle pulling him from Va Tech, they're a childhood favorite of his.

We offered Safety, Thomas Jones, from Laurens, SC. 247 confirmed his measurables and he's a legit 6'3". They think that he could get bumped up to a 4* and they expect a lot more offers to come his way.

Interesting note, Kenny Chesney was at our Jr Day today....
Maybe we'll bring him in as an QC if that music thing doesn't work out for him.

If 4* OL/DL Javon Kinlaw ends up committing as well (he's on commitment watch for this weekend), this would turn out as a fantastic weekend for recruiting. Not bad for March.....

This year we've done 2 Jr days, we only did 1 last year. I think we should do another one in a month or so.

Our lead is so big for Kinlaw, it isn't a big deal if he commits this weekend or not. However, if he does, that would probably only help recruiting even more in the weeks to come, as good players want to play with other good players.

We offered a new '16 RB today, 3* Tre Harbison
https://www.hudl.com/athlete/1735349/highlights/219579376/v2
His Jr Highlight reel is 18 minutes. Here are some things I noticed from the reel.
His OL is good, they had size and speed for a HS OL, it's no wonder why they won State in NC last year.
He's a legit 4.5-ish range 40. His acceleration is good, but he hesitates behind the OL often to develop holes/running lanes. He cuts pretty well and has good acceleration. He's strong. He runs the wildcat a lot, he even threw a TD pass. He was a decent blocker, but I wouldn't put him as tenacious in it. I thought he had really good vision and anticipation on how the lanes were going to develop downfield.
A couple areas he could work on: he favors carrying in his right hand a lot, even when he's running leftside. He loves to stiffarm, and he only has 1 hand on the ball when he hits the line of scrimmage. He needs to get two hands on the ball before contact and during it. At the next level, those guys will be stripping the ball from him like crazy if he doesn't fix that. It really was almost the whole time, he just holds the ball in his right arm and swings his left arm to try to disengage blockers. There were several blocks that I felt like he could've done more, he got his 1st guy on the ground and stopped, he didn't follow the ball or go on to the next guy he could block.
The stuff he needs to work on are easy coachable fixes, I think he has a lot of talent, he has over a dozen offers. I think it was a good move to offer him. I'd like to see his Sr highlights to see how he improved.

We wiped out clemson's lead for '16 4* OG https://247sports.com/Player/John-Simpson-75843 with his visit yesterday. We're now in the lead group. He grew up a SC fan. He got a lot of 1on1 time with the coaches yesterday. SC leads in CB projections.
The nation's #1 Overall Recruit,5* DT https://247sports.com/Player/Rashan-Gary-31787 was on campus yesterday to visit and watch practice. Sources are indicating that we moved up his board and the visit went really well. He has family in the area.
4* RB Elijah Holyfield, son of Evander Holyfield, is on campus today.

SC WR Commit, Bryan Edwards LIGHTS UP Shrine Bowl Combine.
40 yd - 4.41 (1st run) and 4.42 (2nd run)
Broad Jump - 11'8" ....good lord.....
To put that in perspective, he would've had the TOP Broad Jump for WR's at this year's NFL Combine.
185lb Bench - 15 Reps
