Cycling, if you can avoid getting run over. I lost 40 lb in 4 months when I first started and was (guessing) closer to your age. Also cut out almost all fat. Skim milk, no beef, etc. That's frowned on these days, but it worked for me.

There is the whole getting killed thing to worry about, but if you have a nice park or other low-traffic area to ride in, I recommend it.

Not necessarily. Just be picky about which fats you choose.

Good:
monounsaturated fats
polyunsaturated fats

Bad:
trans fats
saturated fats

Fat is good and important for optimal health. It's a marketing hoax that it's bad for you.
