I actually see it as the opposite. I feel like campaigns have a significant impact, but I can also say that someone affected by such a tragedy will be more sensitive to information similar to the tragedy they endured. So while numbers may be reducing someone who has been affected by something like a DUI tragedy would be more acutely aware of those types of accidents and take note of them.

It isn't unusual. A simpler example is if you buy a Chevy Truck you'll start to see tons of Chevy Trucks in your area that you didn't previously notice.
