Missouri has that good old German influence. We have it in northern Arkansas in places. Germans built really good, really sturdy barns. You can tell when an area has German heritage, because the old barns are all great. That sounds weird, but its true in my experience. North Arkansas old barns > southern Arkansas Scots Irish barns.

wmr, Old barns in both areas are nice the way they were constructed. Huge wooden frames in both. You're biased.
