Hell, I don't know. We stayed in a place call " highlands" at the old edwards. We had our own private cottage on the property. It was nice and we had a good time. Guess I was just picking at crumbs though...
Nah ... it's nice there. Was there a festival going on this past weekend? The Games or The Dogs or anything.

Hot Springs is a nice enough town I guess. I honestly haven't spent that much time there. I knew some kids in college as they struck me as ghetto-tards. Lots of different school districts, and they have some crime.
It's a pretty area. I especially love the lakes and the horse racing. The crime: Ironically, Hot Springs had the least amount of crime back in the days when Al Capone and some other big mafia bosses lived there. It has a very unique and interesting history.
If you like reading interesting books relating to American history, a good one is American Mafia by Thomas Reppetto. It covers Hot Springs quite well. Great read!

Which part? One of the towns I mentioned or the bit about having quite a few nice towns?

Hermann MO, a little German oasis in the middle of Missouri farm country.

I live 20 minutes from Tryon. If it's the one on the border of SC/NC you are talking about.. If so Sidestreet Pizza is the best!
Eaten there about 1000 times, know them well. Our place is up the mountain behind the IGA .... keep going through Gillette Woods and up onto Melrose Mountain. I bought the place in '69. It was the very first piece of property I ever owned.

The Heber Springs and Mountain View areas are indeed nice.

I have relatives in Heber Springs and been there many times throughout my life. I've always thought it had so much potential, but outside of the natural beauty and Greers Ferry Lake, the town offers absolutely nothing other than the Red Apple Inn.

Hermann looks really nice.

It's only about an hour outside of COMO... If that kind of atmosphere is your scene, stay at an inn there before a game if you ever come up!

Missouri has that good old German influence. We have it in northern Arkansas in places. Germans built really good, really sturdy barns. You can tell when an area has German heritage, because the old barns are all great. That sounds weird, but its true in my experience. North Arkansas old barns > southern Arkansas Scots Irish barns.

One has to remember that Heber Spring has a really small population and it's located in a rural area..

That was, without a doubt, the strangest analysis I've ever heard... I'm impressed

I had this discussion with a bro of mine as we were driving out to Ponca and the Buffalo a week ago. Iowa is littered with wonderful old German-built barns, too.

Obviously you're a soulless man who doesn't understand the natural cultural genius of a good, solid Teutonic barn.

Greers Ferry Lake is great. Crystal clear water.
There are some expensive lake homes around there.

True, but it's only like an hour, hour and half from Little Rock. It's the perfect weekend getting town.

wmr, Old barns in both areas are nice the way they were constructed. Huge wooden frames in both. You're biased.
