3 national titles in 121 years.

Throughout the history of college football, "numerous ranking systems" have evolved and the metholodgy of choosing a NC has often changed on a yearly basis.

Over the years, many teams denied bowl games and no one hosted an actual "National Championship Game" until the BCS was invented. If you actually look, a large quantity of schools could possibily make their case for claiming national titles for such years.

For example: Yale claims 27 national titles, Princeton 28, Alabama 15, USC 11, Michigan 11, Notre Dame 11, OSU 7, OU 7, Nebraska 5, Texas 4. That right there is 126 national titles claimed by 10 schools alone.

LSU claims 3 NC's: 1958, 2003, 2007; however, we have also been recognized as NC for the years (1908, 1936, 1959,1962) which we don't claim

Compared to everyone else in our conference, I think we are doing fine

quote:

8 division titles in 121 years.

I believe the SEC was split into divisions in 1991. That's ~21 years of 7 team divisions. To at least reach the conference average, each team should have won their division ~3.14 times. LSU has won the west 8 times as you said.

Awesome, the glory of Purple & Gold

45 post-season appearances in 121 years.

We stand at #8 in bowl appearances. What elsedo you want

OR 36 national championships in 121 years, depending on your interpretation of the Alabama/National Championship continuum.

LSU: doing less with more since 1893

The lone big-time university in one of the most talent-rich states in the country.

What do they have to show for it?

You forgot:
#11 All-time nationally in NCAA victories.
#8 All-time in Bowl appearances.

6 "OTHER" National Championships from various polls, indexes, publications, associations, and computer rankings (1908, 1935, 1936, 1961, 1962,
2011), in addition to the consensus titles of 1958, 2003, and 2007.)

I like how you conveniently added 8 "division" titles in "121 years" when we've only had "divisions' for 22 years.

Also, what lone big-time university has done """"""" A L L L L L L L """"""" of the
following since 2000 ?????:
- Had a winning season EVERY year.
- Gone to a bowl game EVERY year (winning 9)
- Been ranked in the Top 25 EVERY YEAR
- Been ranked in the Top 5 SIX times.
- Won more games than ANY program since 2005.
- Won the 3rd most games nationally since 2000.

Answer ????? None, zero, the null set, naught
EXCEPT - LSU.....

sorantable, this is not like you. I've seen much better posts from you before. Why the green-eyed monster?

Who DOES compare with Alabama, esp. in the SEC?
Jeezum Pete's

Also, LSU is one of 5 SEC teams deemed to be in the Top 15 of all-time nationally: Alabama, Tennessee, Georgia, LSU and Auburn. The Ole Miss Rebels are considered a Top 30 all-time program as well.

1. I'll give the OP credit because he actually did research.

2. To call LSU underachievers or failures because their program doesn't compare to Alabama's is fricking asinine.

3. You're one to talk considering you're an Ole Miss fan. Your program is a laughing stock compared to us so you can't say shite. Nice troll though.
