they're mpeg 4 files. it probably depends upon the age of your equipment (guessing). A dual layer probably. Definitely too big for DVD. Would definitely go on a Blu-ray.
If you have to reformat them they're big. Can't say exactly how big since I view them on my computer, or from my computer to the TV (HDMI)

I guess it's a mute point now. Everything is about archiving in a cloud and streaming out of there these days ... on demand.
Good gosh. I remember in 1967 when my family got our first color TV and we thought that was the bomb. Hell, there were shows that were not even in color at the time.
We are living in incredible times. Heads-up holographic displays are right around the corner. Bandwidth pipes are getting smaller and larger at the same time. Compression technology is booming. It's just amazing.
