the heyday of Georgia football is clearly behind them. Can Carolina say the same?
1980 was a long time ago. But, UGA had 12 wins in 2012. USCe has never had 12 wins in the history of the program. It's a good thing that USC's heyday is in the future.

In all seriousness, auburn is not a contender this year. You were manhandled by LSU, took a miracle play to beat Georgia, and a down right fluke to beat Bama. You lost the centerpiece of your oline, and tre mason. Your QB can't dig you out of a hole.
True contenders this year in order
1) Bama: a Saban coached team will always be at or near the top, if Coker comes through then it'll probably be y'all's this year.
2) LSU. Lsu is most productive running the rock. The three headed monster of fournette, Hilliard, and Magee is downright scary, our db's are extremely talented, and I expect Christian and Thomas to place a firm hold on the DT spot. Jennings or Harris won't have to be spectacular, just managers, but don't sleep on Dural, diarse, Dupre and Quinn. Serious talent at WR. Plus a great oline.
3) Georgia: Gurley is the fricking man. He can carry a team on his back. I really can't wait to see what he can do this year.
4) USCE: maybe this is the year.
5) A&M: speed kills. Just not sure if that D is ready
6) Auburn: fluke plays won't happen this year
7)Florida: they slipped last year, but they always recruit well. Should be a good year in Gainesville
8) Tennessee: definitely getting there
9) Missouri: too much to overcome after a fluke year
10) ole miss: they're ole miss, they won't sniff a national championship this century
11) Vandy: I really like them, just need more talent
12) miss state: Prescott could change this
13) Kentucky: on the rise, will probably move up the list in the next couple years
14) Arkansas: the worst team in the sec, they need a lot of work

LSU has only won two games in Jordan Hare Stadium during the entire 21st century and Auburn finished with a losing record both years.
Auburn obviously wont finish with a losing record this year, so LSU has no chance of winning at Auburn. Another reason they wont win or even contend for a title this year

I don't think we (LSU) will be a contender this year. LSU will win the NC in 2015 though.
Impossible. 2015 is supposed to belong to Bama

When the pendulum swings back this year, South Carolina will be back where they belong... beating up on Vandy and Kentucky and beating their chests shouting SEC! SEC! SEC!
Wow ... you should post that in the SCAR forum.
Let your true feelings show.

LSU's defense has the potential to be very good. They have two of the top ten if not top five CB's in the sec. They will put them on an island and stack the box. With a dominating defense they will be in every game.
LSU offensive line is as good as any in the conference and have a very strong RB core. Great talent at WR and TE. QB just has to manage the game.
With all that I suspect that LSU will finish second or third in the SECW. Probably will win one they shouldn't and lose one they shouldn't.
Bama ahead of LSU due to depth of talent. Auburn as reigning SEC champ ahead until proven otherwise.
Talent in the SEC is huge. Other then 3-5 teams all others could contend.
Nobody had Auburn or Mizzou on the radar last year.

if you're going to use past history as an indicator you have to use the past history of Auburn not having great back to back years

LSU couldn't beat anybody on the road last year even with a senior quarterback. Not even Ole Miss. Cant wait for them to come to Auburn this year. I put the over/under on an Auburn victory at 3 touchdowns
