Started talking to a girl my age. Hit it off immediately. She's a big baseball and football fan. Unfortunately she is an Alabama fan, but I guess that makes things more interesting. She is going to school in ATL and wants to go to med school. So she's smart, funny, competent about sports, nearby and we click pretty well.

Then she drops a bomb on me and informs me she is in a wheelchair.

She was very laid back about it. Wasn't trying to guilt me into anything and said it in a way that made it seem like she fully expected that to be the end of things. I was completely shocked because up until this point, her and I had gotten along great and I had no idea how to feel about this. You don't really prepare yourself for this kind of thing and so when it happens, you don't know how to react.

Talked to her about it and it turns out she was born a few months early and weighed less than 2 pounds. She isn't paralyzed or anything, she just isn't able to walk around because she can't support herself for that long. So she is fully functional, but she gets around in a wheelchair.



so yeah...that was my night. Hit it off great with an awesome chick and then get a bombshell dropped on me. So I'm still kind of trying to process all that shite right now.
