As I stated earlier, it's not a function of "shitty" employees, it's the company's apparent desire to not have enough employees working during a shift. Ask people that have worked for Walmart for years and they will tell you this is true.

And you are naive to think that the stores in and around the corporate offices are run the same as those elsewhere. I don't know what kind of work you do, but it's pretty typical for locations near their company HQ to be shining examples of clean, well run stores. Why? Because the corporate types don't like to get to far away from their base, and these are the stores they visit.
