He suggested I do all my shopping at other box stores. And yeah, I think it's better to put your money towards your local economy and farmers when it's possible. Why wouldn't that be a good thing?

I try to do this as well. I also do most of my big box retail shopping at Costco.

I also avoid big box stores like the plague. Too much hassle. WM is blazing into smaller, more urban stores, too.

Prices are about distribution capabilities, especially when it comes to groceries. WM has expanded local produce options and gotten heavy into organics. If there was a Walgreens-sized WM grocery within a 1/4 mile of my home, it would get all my business.

I think WM's U.S made goods push will be good for Arkansas and for the south in general, because the south is ripe for manufacturing jobs.
