Just my thoughts:
1. LSU has played a lot of freshman over the last 5 or so years. Generally if they're good enough to get significant PT that early, then they're good enough to leave college early.
2. I would imagine that the large majority of HS kids who go on to play at all SEC schools think they are going to be in the NFL in 3 years. I think the coaching staff at LSU kind of embraces that thought process rather than cautioning against it by basically telling the HS recruits from the outset that if their plan is to turn pro after 3 years, then the staff isn't going to push to persuade them not to. It probably leads to some guys leaving early who would be better off staying in college, but I think it also helps bring in the elite players. The mindset is that the coaches want the players to be good enough to leave early
