I am probably being overly optimistic about our defense. My comment was more about Oregon than MSU. I like MSU's athleticism and scheme. I just believe Oregon's defense, which has been decent, is going to take another step forward.

Circling back to the thread, Chavis has had some supreme athletes in the trenches. Oregon went out and got those under Chip and they are finally Juniors. Athletically we will have our best DL, the safeties are off the chart and the backers will have more depth. However, I do worry about or our ILBs.

One thing that stood out to me about the 2011 LSU squad was the size of the secondary. Claiborne, Simon, Reid, etc. really allowed the front seven to get after it and attack.

I mentioned the secondary for Oregon thinking that our long rangy safeties and cover corners are going to really allow the front seven to attack.
