Not to mention, every Texan I knew while in Oxford would order brisket and a shiner at every restaurant that served it. Hell, one got pissy because Ajax was out of shiner.

It wouldn't have been my first choice.
But my habit at most restaurants is to ask the regulars, the staff, and the chef what I should order.
Again, they all claimed the brisket plate was--by far--the best thing on the menu.
I had a Woodford Reserve with 3 cubes of ice.
Not a Shiner fan.
