Based on what criteria? Just wondering.

Oh, I dunno, maybe a top 20 offense and the top scoring defense in the nation that year, and NFL players all over the field. They would have beat 2002 OSU, 2006 FL, most likely the 2003 teams, and had a good shot at 2004 USC, 2005 Texas, 2009 Bama, 2000 Okie, and 2008 FL. I wouldn't say they would easily beat most of the teams on the list, but they could easily have beaten any of them outside of maybe 2001 Miami, which had a ridiculous amount of talent.

Our defense was crazy stout that year, and our offense was loaded with NFL talent. 2004 was a better overall team than 2010 for us by a fair margin.

These numbers are skewed because of how bad that schedule was. They weren't competing in an era of SEC dominance.

ULM (5-6)
MSU (3-8)
LSU (9-3)
Citadel (3-7)
Tennessee x 2 (10-3)
LA Tech (6-6)
Arkansas (5-6)
Kentucky (2-9)
Ole Miss (4-7)
UGA (10-2)
Bama (6-6)
