This is wonderfully entertaining. If you're supposed to be one of the best teams in school history, you don't let anybody - much less the "2nd best team in the nation" embarrass your arse on the biggest stage imaginable. I don't care if 2011 LSU played 2011 Bama 14 times in the same season. Bama wasn't getting beat by 21 that year.

Bobby bowden himself said it was nearly impossible to beat the same team twice in the same year in college football. look what happened to his team in their rematch NC.

Did his team get shutout? Did they cross the 50 more than once?

It is tough to beat same team twice, but not impossible. Bama beat Florida twice in 1999. First was close and Bama destroyed them in the rematch in SECCG.

Bama was one of top two teams that year and deserved in BCSNCG. They proved to be the best team by what they did in that game.

Alabama and LSU have both done it. Alabama beat Florida 40-39 in the '99 regular season and then beat them again, 34-7 in the SEC Championship Game.

LSU beat Georgia twice in 2003.

Auburn beat Tennessee twice in 2004 and South Carolina twice in 2010.

It's not impossible just because Bobby Bowden failed epically in the Sugar Bowl.
