Disagree.
I know people with arrest records a mile long that have yet to do prison time. They are currently awaiting a possible sentence to prison but this has been going on for 10 years with minor shite. They don't put you in prison for being a saint. Sorry

Kinda like the military industrial complex keeps driving us to war. The law enforcement prison complex keeps driving us to incarceration. Too much money invested and too many jobs on the line to change it now.....
Or you know, you could stop committing crimes.

They can put you into jail for anything now...like unpaid parking tickets....

Then stop parking like a frick and pay your parking tickets like everyone else. They can also put you in for years of avoiding child support. Your arse deserves prison for being that big of an idiot.

Yep, we have one in my local area I found out about recently. Cop was lucky he wasn't shot. He pulled over an old man because he didn't have a license plate but did have temp tags. Old man had a stroke recently and doesn't have full control over part of his body. Old man was not wearing his seatbelt. Old man normally carries a revolver with him everywhere he goes.
Anyway, a verbal altercation takes place and the officer rips the old man out of the car and face plants him because he wasn't able to remove himself from the car quickly enough. Old man was hurt during the altercation and is now suing the local government. Cop probably doesn't know how close he was to getting shot.

It's at crisis stage and has been ignored by lawmakers here for years. The Feds have threatened taking over the prison system here and that has finally caused lawmakers into action. It's too little too late though, and the Feds will be taking over our prison system within the next year.
Most of the residents here don't really care though. They have the attitude that they're prisoners and deserve what they get. Sad state of affairs.

So someone should go to jail and be potentially raped and given disease and hurt because they didn't pay some parking tickets? Thats some dark age type punishment.

Another reason for the increase in violence is segregation. "Almost all the assaults and rapes and every one of the murders have happened in cell blocks L, M, P, Q, and lockup," Ray told me. These cell blocks house mostly black prisoners and are devoid of any books, newspapers, televisions, or other entertainment options. Other blocks—where there are more white prisoners—have more amenities, according to Ray.
Something from your link.
Now when you read that and then reread your last statement

Can you really blame them?

The only way you end up in prison for unpaid parking tickets would have to be an issued warrant found you with other more serious crimes. You can be placed in jail but I highly doubt anyone in our history has done prison time for strictly unpaid parking tickets. I would love to hear it because it's really not something that happens. Jail...sure....prison....

Yeah.. Not when you try to protect yourself from illegal search and seizure. I've had this same problem in this area, but I was able to convey my point a lot better.
Cop still brought in a dog.

Probably cause is tricky. However, if you have nothing to worry about then why be a shithead and not comply. Things go bad when you appear to hide things.
As a prior military, random searches were an everyday thing. You are subject to one everytime you drive on to a base. Poor civilians

You chose to be in the military. We are still living in the US and have freedoms that we expect cops to abide by.

Haha, except this country isn't a military base.
I, as everyone else, have basic human rights guaranteed by the Constitution.
The 4th amendment is one of them. No probable cause, no search.
I was very respectful but firm in the incident and would repeat it at any scenario.
I guess you're the kinda guy who's OK with "papers please" mentality.. Yeah?

The cops have a tough job. Not complying and being a dip shite doesn't help. Has to be one of the more thankless jobs. You go out and risk your life daily to protect the hordes of thankless shitheads complaining about a vehicle search.

Again, probably cause is a gray area. If they ask you questions and you look nervous ....what do you think he should do? Again....You are guaranteed nothing by the constitution as you see daily with the 1000 of amendments to it. Every situation is different and I have never in my life been illegally searched but again....I tend not to act like an idiot in public.

We pay them and they agree to take the risk. We also pay them to uphold the law and constitution, not to bend the law as much as possible to collect maximum revenue for the department. Why have a 4th amendment if it's going to be abused and ignored anyway?

By thousands, you mean 27? Two of those were for prohibition and to end prohibition.
