Because without net neutrality the providers would just throttle connections to that streaming service until ESPN pays them a chunk of money...

1. I don't want the Internet policed by anyone, especially not the US government.
2. They can throttle bandwidth, but there is always competition and you can switch ISPs. Google is going to start offering low earth orbit satellite connections to avoid the throttling from ISPs.
3. Netflix doesn't have this problem and I would say that they have been pretty successful.
