Gurley has shown the potential to be a damn near prototypical SEC back - big, runs well between the tackles, good speed, dependable with the ball, and has been clutch in big games. There were stretches his freshman season that he played more physical and was able to grind out more yards than any back UGA has had since the Dooley era (Alabama, Florida, Mizzou). If he can improve his conditioning before the season starts and stay clear of any major and/or nagging injuries, there's no reason to think he won't put up more yards than any back in UGA history not named Herschel.
Which is a pretty big deal. In my mind it's Gurley > Moreno.
Something to consider, Gurley had Marshall to compliment him in '12 - his best season. Moreno was best when Thomas Brown was there to spell him. But in '08, when it was almost a one man show, Moreno pulled himself out of a lot of games (NFL-itis?). Gurley didn't come out of games post injury return in '13 until he couldn't go (which gets us back to that conditioning).
Put it this way, if you're headed into the 2012 SECC game again, which one do you want on the roster? I think the answer to that is pretty clear.

Gurley, but Moreno had shite for an OL in 2008.
Gurley's OLs have been average to good each year.
My personal top 5 ranking of GA rb's I've witnessed:
1) Walker
2) Hearst
3) Gurley
4) Hampton
5) Moreno
