The only sport LSU is mediocre in is basketball and that is being generous. Aggies are pretty good in football and baseball and slightly below average in basketball.
With the amount of money that they have, it's shocking that A&M isn't a national power year in and year out in football or baseball. I think LSU has the better front office so I'm going to say they have more long term success.

12 NCAA tournament appearances in its history, half of which came from 2006-2011.
I'd take "slightly below average" at this point as a massive upgrade.
