Based on what? His run in the 90s inside a conference which pretty much became a three-team league for the majority of the decade? He didn't even have the best team in Florida throughout the majority of his tenure there. Sometimes he didn't even have the second best team in Florida. Had Florida been playing in the ACC or the Big East during that time, Spurrier would have only won one or two conference titles at the maximum.

And the SEC hasn't been a 3 team league since 07?

08 - UF, Bama, UGA
09 - UF, Bama, LSU
10 - Auburn, Bama, LSU
11 - Bama, LSU, UGA
12 - Bama, UGA, UF, LSU, A&M, South Carolina (pretty much the only year the SEC has had 5-6 legit contenders in its run)
13 - Bama, Auburn, Mizzou, South Carolina

And don't forget: The ACC in the 1990s was TERRIBLE except for FSU. THAT was a one team league.

And the Big East? LOL. VA Tech? Syracuse? Miami was inconsistent until 2000. UF would've been fine.

UF bashed one of Syracuse's best teams with Donavon McNabb in the 99 Orange Bowl (and 98 was one of the "weaker" UF teams of the 90s).
