Be that the case, then so did Emory Ballard or any number of people. Offenses and defenses evolve over time, each trying to gain an edge.


So you are telling me that the SEC had the speed rushers before Spurrier's fun-n-gun? You are telling me that the SEC had sideline to sideline LB's before Spurrier's fun-n-gun? D's were set up to be run stoppers. Spurrier forced D's to get faster, because you either had speed or you were chasing it all day long.

Here's a kick in the nuts.......Spurrier has a more impressive resume. He won at places nobody had consistently won before. What about saban? He has a stellar resume....but he has won at programs who already had a rich tradition before he arrived.
