Sorry for not thinking Mason will be as good as Winston.
That has absolutely nothing to do with the point I was attempting to convey.

I agree with WG here. Their WRs were no better IMO, one reason being that I always thought Benjamin was drastically overrated. RB is obviously in our favor. QB obviously in their favor - with the caveat that I feel comfortable with whoever we have back there as long as Richt as Bobo are coaching them. Their OL was probably better (I guess), but they didn't have a bunch of maulers and I feel pretty comfortable with at least 3 of our OL positions this year.
The D talent really isn't much of a contest at DB. Our front 7 isn't quite as good, but I don't think we're THAT far off.
I do like our STs this year, which is being overlooked. The STs rankings came out recently on ESPN and hasn't been posted here yet to my knowledge even though every other position group was almost immediately posted.

FSU had 3WR's go over 900 yds. I don't think UGA's offense is set up for that with Mason at QB and UGA's OL.

It doesn't have to. Again the point is, you have no idea of what UGA's talent is capable of producing because it hasn't had that opportunity yet. Just as everyone was convinced last year that Kelvin Benjamin was nothing more than a clone of Greg Carr, and Rashad Greene was just a productive receiver, not the game breaker that he became.
As far as what UGA is set up for on the Offense, it can cater to what works best for them to win. FSU needed its passing game to be the focal point of the offense for it to win games because it may not have had faith in its running game. UGA may not need to with the RB's on the roster. The OL may or may not be good, but you nor I have no idea of that yet.

Sorry UGA for the kiss of death. Phil Steele is an idiot.

For the record, his top surprise team last year was FSU.
A team with SEC talent and an ACC schedule was a surprise pick?
Had he said Auburn has a surprise pick, he'd been a genius.

Any of our 4 guys are capable of that as well. Just because we don't play in as downfield of an offense that will give them the chance to do so..doesn't mean that they aren't as talented.
That's what this was all about right, the talent between the teams? UGA preseason '14 vs FSU preseason '13, we have the clear advantage at RB, they have the clear advantage at QB, I'd give us a slight edge at WR, and I have no idea about their OL but I'm pretty confident they'd have the edge anyway.

You know he didn't pick us to be #1, right?

I could believe UGA would have a decent year next year if Mason had done better in the bowl game and if I didn't have a sneaking suspicion that Gurley is saving himself for the NFL.
Which for Gurley is understandable after watching Marcus Lattimore's injury saga.

Touche.
But he didn't include us in his top 40.
I guess one thing going for UGA this year is it will not be the only team starting a new QB.

I haven't followed UGA too much this off season, are they still running the same strength and conditioning program?

Completely hypothetical guessing on your part. By the way, Gurley is not the only RB on the roster. If he gets injured, I am quite sure UGA is capable to move forward. And Mason's performance on a soggy football field in a bowl game has absolutely nothing to do with his performance for the next year. This type of argument always confounds me, do people actually think that athletes never use past failures as future motivation. Conversely, does past success not also breed future complacency?

That topic has actually been quite low key. They brought in Navy Seals to have them go through that training this past weekend and to bring out who the leaders are on this team. Also, there has been extensive research done on preventing the alarming amount injuries that occurred on last years team with the S&C program this offseason.

Has nothing to do with our injuries last season so you can save it.

Our WRs, if they can stay healthy are at least as good as their group was last year. Benjamin was very overrated, he was just a huge athlete going up against really shitty secondaries all year. QB is clearly theirs, but I'm rarely worried about QB here, we usually have at least solid play at the position. We have the best RB corp in the country and FSU isn't even close to that discussion this year or last.
Safe bet that their OL was better, that is our weak spot on offense. If they can be just slightly above average, our offense will be a monster again this year.

DB is them by default because we don't know what we really have, but Malkom Parrish will be this year's Lamarcus Joyner. People are sleeping on him.
We have the better LB corp, but they have the better DL. We're closer than people realize though, seems like people think we have absolutely nothing on DL.
Our issue the last couple years was coaching. We do not lack for talent in the front seven, though it could be better. We will determine how good our D is this year will be how quickly the players can adapt to Pruitt's coaching and learn his system.

I'll have to wait and see on STs. When I actually see them be good, then I can safely believe it, but not before.

Some small personnel changes and they have incorporated a couple of new programs in an attempt to help reduce the risk of injury.

They do miss, but if you look at their records versus our pickems here, or on yahoo, you will see that the insiders are above and beyond our credibility.

I don't know why people are giving him so much shite for that game. Yea, he was only %53 but I would think that had more to do with the recievers not catching a wet ball. What all of you don't realize, is that he threw for 320 yards that day.
