Meh, from everything I've read he was just a weak, spineless judge who allowed himself to be bullied (and starstruck) by a defense team full of rock stars. Ito didn't want to be a star -- he's still serving on the bench and has never given and interview or written a book.

The judge in the (I think) Anna Nicole Smith case was the one who was playing to the cameras and got carried away with the ridiculous theatrics in an effort to parlay the proceedings into celebrity status and/or a better gig. He was the one who carried on with tantrums and crying and all that nonsense.
