Damn man....that's some serious prep for a few ears of corn. I grilled mine with Terragon butter and thought I was doing something.

It's just another way to cook up some corn. Recipe

The thing you have to watch for is that most recipes I have seen call for grilling the corn wrapped in bacon as opposed to simply smoking the corn and whatever method is used the key is you have to make sure you get the bacon hot enough to cause the bacon grease to saturate the corn. You can leave the bacon on throughout the cooking process but you have to cook it long enough for it to be done which means you either have to expose it to higher heat or pre cook it prior to wrapping it around the corn.
