Memphis is NOT an SEC town. Hard to get fans to travel to a baseball tournament when your team could be out in one game. There needs to be a good fan base locally. LSU, MS ST, Ole Miss, Bama, AU, Tenessee and GA all have plenty of alums in Bham to support their teams, if they would just get off their rumps and get out there.

Oh, and you see how well the SEC basketball tournament worked in Orlando.(not so much) Atlanta is not a great fit either. Athens is not that far away, but when has GA been any good in baseball?

Yes it is. Less than hour from Ole Miss
Huge alumni base from school like Arkansas, MSU, Bama, and Tennessee.
Autozone is an awesome place to watch a baseball game.

Which is why having the tourney a block from Beale Street could really help.

What???? I was born and raised in the Memphis metro and currently work for the City. There are probably as many Ole Miss fans as Memphis State fans in Memphis....Also, There are many Arkansas, Bama, UT, State, LSU, and Auburn fans. The Memphis metro area includes several counties in Arkansas and Mississippi,, as well as Tennessee.
I remember going to an Arkansas vs Memphis Tiger baseball game 3 years ago at Autozone.. It was a sea of red sold out to Arkansas fans. I probably didn't see 10 Memphis fans in the whole stadium. Go Hogs!! Autozone would be rocking if the SEC tourney was in Memphis!
