quote:No, that wouldn't exactly be hypocritical. I think you're implying that I'm doing that, but I don't understand why you think that.
Isn't it kind of hypocritical to tell someone their beliefs are wrong and/or bigotry, yet you try to force on them what you believe?

we are dealing with children here, I laugh at their journey

Simply having the opinion that homosexuality is immoral doesn't make you an a-hole. It's what you do with that opinion that decides whether or not you are a hatemonger or a-hole.
You posted this a few pages back. Basically, because someone doesn't agree with homosexuals being able to marry one another.
Same thing you're accusing these guys of, correct?
Who is right?
I guess when we all die, we will find out?

I think people who try to force their religion on other people by enacting religiously-motivated laws are assholes. That sort of thing is a violation of religious freedom which is guaranteed in the Bill of Rights and applies to all federal and state laws.
Believe whatever you want, preach whatever you want. Legislating it is crossing the line. Where's the hypocrisy in that?

I showed one example in a previous post of yours....

Which, is your opinion. They have theirs, you have yours. It doesn't make them any more of an a-hole than you are for what you think.

I said that having an opinion doesn't necessarily make you an a-hole, but depending on how you act, you might be an a-hole. In other words, your actions determine whether you are an a-hole. What is hypocritical about that statement? Nothing at all.

The thing you're not understanding is the rift between opinion and action. Like I said, believe whatever you want. When you begin trying to dictate behavior based on religion, that's when you're an a-hole.

Sure...you called them arse holes for something they believe in. You're calling them assholes for them acting, only like those who started our government all the way back to John Hanson.
So, is everyone an a-hole that's been associated with 90% of our countries history?

well, for me to not act on my deeply held belief by speaking for what I believe to be a truth, that would imho make me a hypocrite.
Better?
Forcing someone, anyone to succumb to my beliefs would not be Christ like at all.
But, if I believe that one's soul is in danger of being lost, and do not attempt to persuade in a loving way, that persons path in life.....

Tell me about your views on interracial relationships, Rev, mixing of tribes, parables, etc.

I get what you're saying, man, but it's not hypocrisy. It might be insincerity, wishy-washiness, non-committal, or whatever else. It's not hypocrisy.
I think we should let this argument die out because there's no point. I understand what you're saying.

Also, this thread is an abortion. Can we give it the anchor?

Getting a divorce is a sin, but you practically had a parade to let everyone know about yours.

I'm not Rev, but there is no sin involved in interracial, or mixing of tribes as long as it's heterosexual.
If you are referring to the Old Testament instructions to the Jews, you do not understand what happened at the cross. Those instructions were to a particular people, at a particular time.
Now we ARE advised, that's it - advised, not forbidden, to not marry a non-believer (unequally yoked.)
The Bible is full of good advice, but there are only two commands. And the 'love thy neighbor as thyself' part? Yes, we are to love homosexuals just as we love ourselves, but we don't have to believe that their lifestyle is 'right' or 'good'.
The marriage thing? Sure, let the homosexuals have a legal something that will give them the same tax write offs or whatever. Let the state recognize them as 'married' if that's what they want to call it. But the institution of marriage that God ordained/created, they will never be seen by God as 'married'. And they should never be married in a church or by a pastor/minister since it's not a union blessed by God.

Who brought any of my religious beliefs into this?
You're probably the shittiest poster we have here in our fan base.
How do you know divorce is a sin to me or my beliefs?
Is this just your assumption?
