I grew up cheering for both Tennessee and Kentucky (Kentucky mainly in basketball). I'm a border child one parent from each state so it made sense to me and Kentucky reminds me of my Mammaw - she loved them and was old enough to remember when UK had good football teams. I still cheer for Kentucky when we're not playing although many Tennessee and Kentucky fans would consider this the equivalent of a Bama fan cheering for Auburn.

My parents were both from Kentucky and relocated to Tennessee in the early 60's. My father went to UK and my Mom went to EKU, and both were huge UK fans. I grew up getting a hard time from them when UK beat UT in basketball season, and my friends (who thought I was a UK fan), would give me grief when UT would beat UK in football.

You were definitely in a no-win situation.
