All deservedly imo.

LIstenng to Coach B on the red zone morning radio show. BertucinnI was asking about improvement in the spring and going through the position groups.

Bert mentioned the young guys growing and getting better and when they got to the secondary Bert said the biggest thing is that we have secondary coaches that know what they're doing. He singled out Robb Smith and his changes helping the DB's to understand better and simplifying the terminology so they can play faster etc.

What we saw as fans as frustrating with the DB's and the silly alignments and easy pickings for QBs had to be Chernobyl level red arse for Coach B

I get that from the DBs themselves in the interviews. TQ said that it was the one on one coaching and the knowing what they are doing that is the biggest change.

Yep, that's why he told Ash to hit the road. It's funny that a lot of fans thought he was taking a lesser job just because he wanted to. He was gracefully let go.

Yeah, every time I hear something like "we feel like we know what we're doing out there" from our D-backs, that screams to me that Ash was overcomplicating either coverages or terminology.

Bert is a whiny bitch sometimes

Ash worked under Bielema with the Badgers for the last three seasons, including the last two as co-defensive coordinator. He'll remain with the team through its Rose Bowl appearance against Stanford.

"I am excited to welcome Chris to our staff," Bielema said in a statement. "In the last three years working together, I gained a great respect for the way Chris teaches the game and develops student-athletes. I've followed his career for a long time, and his knowledge of the way we run our program and specifically the defense will be valuable for us moving forward in our transition."

He fricking hired him, and after 3 years, he should have known what he was getting.

If he knew it was a coaching issue last season, why did he call out Tevin Mitchell?

Cause Tevin was messing up on stuff he should know regardless of coaching which was mainly tackling.

Agreed. I've made some bad hires but worked out of them much quicker than 3 years.

coming into the SEC of course he thought that. but as has been stated before, bert underestimated the SEC.

he saw the current staff he had wasn't going to cut it, so he made changes

Every year is a step-up in competition.

i don't think he's whiny particularly but i do think he could shut it up at times and that would be nice.

i hope ash being gone makes a huge difference on the field. if not, well then maybe bb needs to start pointing fingers at himself and no one else.

Nick Saban made several staff changes on the defensive side of the ball following his first year in the SEC, after coming here from the B1G.

Sabans first year at lsu was 2000. These position coaches were in their first year at lsu in 2001

Defensive Coordinator: Gary Gibbs
Defensive Backs: Charlie Harbison
Linebackers: Will Muschamp
Offensive Line: George Yarno

I see what you're saying, good point. He made a change immediately after the first season in the SEC. I can buy that.

the offensive assistants don't change, outside of O-line coach.

the defensive assistants on the other hand see a complete overhaul. for some reason this sounds familiar...
