Florida sucked before Donovan, now it's blueblood. Pretty similar situation for the bluest of blues, Duke.

The past is not the determination of the future, a good hire will make good things happen. frick, Florida sucked in everything before 1990 and they're now awesome in both major sports.

Man, this is like 3 points in a single thread where you and I seem to agree. Is the weather forecast for hell predicting winter tomorrow?

While I may not go as far as calling Florida or Uconn blueblood's they have shown that new schools can replace the old ones. The bigger point is the schools spending big dough on coaches sure seem to be getting to Final Fours and winning National Championships. The other point is the ACC got 6 teams in the NCAA and got at least 18 million for doing so. If the SEC just gets 3 teams in, they are not pulling done the NCAA dough in basketball.

In simple terms :
NCAA pays in basketball
NCAA does not pay in football

Coaches who win in the Final Four get paid. Not the other way around.

Look at all those top paid coaches and see what their salary was before their championships. The schools didn't spend and then get a championship. They hired a great coach and then rewarded him when he won a championship.
