Western Carolina Overall: 24-11. Conference 9-3. This is good for 2nd place in their division behind Davidson.

Memphis: 19-19. Conference 4-8. I thought these guys would have a better season.

Holy Cross: 10-23. Still horrible that we lost at all to these guys.

Mount St. Marys: 10-14. I guess they have had a lot of weather issues.

Michigan St: 20-13. Conference 5-4. Pretty solid team.

Eastern Illinois: 11-25.

South Alabama: 16-20. Conference 6-8. I guess it's a bit of a down year for them.

UC Santa Barbara: 23-8. Conference 4-5. No surprise there. They looked like a legit team.

Arizona: 17-20. Conference 6-9. They seem to be picking up some steam. Won the last two series including a series win against UCLA.

Southeast Missouri: 25-11. Conference 15-3.

Southern Miss: 21-17. Conference 10-5. Tied for 2nd place in conference behind Rice.

You went to a lot of trouble when you could have just said; "we aren't very good this year". Can't hit and inconsistent (at best) pitching).

Well I thought some things were interesting. Michigan State is decent, Arizona is coming back, Memphis and South Alabama are worse than I thought they would be.

Don't be crotchety.

Its really upsetting that it took the coaching staff this long to decide a change of action was necessary.

Intense Bastard is back...basically...

Instead of treating them like a pro team and giving them freedom, he's micromanaging that arse like a junior high team again.

Ask Hudson how he was throwing in the pen pregame yesterday and what happened. Or Rea what happened for the GDP...

I'm not saying this team can truly be "fixed" -- but his approach has made a 180...

In case we don't know Hudson or Rea, can you tell us what happened?

I think Rea got benched for Detz after the DP.

Hudson got scratched from the start literally 10 minutes before gametime. Rumor is his command wasn't there in the pen.

Rea grounded into a double play and was replaced by Detz at first in the next half inning -- basically activating the DH -- when we also saw Humphreys and Garner enter the game...

Yeah I don't think he got benched for hitting into a double play.

Didn't Hudson pitch still later in the game?

He knew that literally the only thing he couldn't do was put the ball on the ground. Pretty arse hat mistake, and he also stranded bases loaded in the 1st. I'm almost 100% positive the benching was a direct result.

We also were a lot more aggressive at the plate, took a lot more cuts at first pitches, as a result we were up in the count a lot. We took almost 10 walks because we were making better decisions at the plate. I'm pretty sure the primary reason Cody Brown started was because of his ability to pick good pitches.

They also ran 40 100's in practice Monday, and obviously had to shave. 4,000 yards of sprints will make you consider getting your mind right.
