Well, if you choose to live in Olathe around 135th it's much more reasonable, as far as housing and what not. The part of 135th St I'm talking about is east of Olathe in southern Overland Park to Leawood, which leads you to State Line Rd. Roughly 10 miles or so east of state line is Lees Summit.
Not meaning to confuse you with all the street names and stuff. Just bring up a map online and you will see what I'm talking about.
