Couldn't the same be said to those who didn't have health insurance before?

Yes. Needless to say, life is a lot harder for poor people. I don't have an ounce of sympathy for a rich person bitching about $300.

$3600 per year. Just for accuracy.

Do we know NYC is rich? Or are all people with health insurance rich to you?

It isn't about the sympathy. It is about freedom and gov control/regulation. At least to me that is what it is about.

What about a struggling post grad working an entry level job making $11/hr whose premiums have increased to about $275/month from about 95? My deductible was 750 and now it's 3500.

eta: FWIW I canceled my insurance so w/e.

Actually if you include the deductible its about $6300 a year. if I were to have a procedure it would cost even more than that because of the lesser coverage.

So if its no big deal, just spot me each year for the rest of my life.
