Based on what?

They didn't really lose much on defense that they can't replace with equally talented players.

You guys lost a ton on defense though.

They lost Easley, but he only played 3 games, they lost Roberson, Riggs, and Purifoy in the secondary, but that's probably the most talented unit on the team as of today, and they lost Ronald Powell, who never really produced much.
They look like theyll have a lot more depth on the DL this year, and at LB depending on how some people recover from injuries over the summer, and the secondary is loaded again.
What am I missing?

We lost even more on defense the year before. I think we will be somewhere between 11-1 and 4-8. But if we somehow figure out how to offense....all bets are on.

So you're telling me you guys have players just as talented as:
Dominique Easley
Ronald Powell
Loucheiz Purifoy
Marcus Roberson
Jaylen Watkins

They lost 6 guys I forgot Watkins.
They have recruited ridiculously well on that side of the ball, and if anything, that is the only part of the team WM knows how to coach.
They return Cummings, Orr, Bullard, and Fowler on the DL, plus back ups Cox, Ivie, and McCalister. Ivie has been showing out in Spring. Brantley and Bostwick are coming off of red shirts and both will easily be in the DT/NT rotation this year.
And that doesn't even count someone like Holley or Willis contributing immediately.
At LB they return everyone except Powell, but he wasn't necessarily anything special at the position. He never lived up to the hype. They also add a lot of new, talented bodies that will contribute this year. Morrison, Taylor, Ball, and Davis make up a nice unit.
At DB, VH3 is probably the best in the conference, They brought in a ton of talent with Dawson and Tabor who are on campus this spring, Gorman, Maye, Neal, and Harris make up probably one of the most talented safety 2 deeps in the entire country (and gorman quielty had a very solid season last year) and Poole is the returning starter at nickel. Washington is back and will play this year too.
From a talent stand point, there is very little/no drop off. The biggest drop off I see is not having Easley.

How many games did Easley play last year? 3 or 4?

More than 3 NFL draft picks?

You know whats funny, they probably don't have 3 draft picks next year, but so what? Roberson and Purifoy were both drafted higher than Ahmad Black, but he easily had the best career at Florida as an undersized safety.
NFL talent isn't everything. Purifoy especially had a horribly inconsistent year and Roberson missed a TON of games with injury. Watkins they will miss because of his versatility, but Maye has the same athleticism.
VH3 is better than all of them.
That being said, they have recruited extremely well in the secondary, and I would not be surprised to see them have multiple draft picks out of their current secondary roster.
PS: Roberson only started 4 games last year, he missed a lot with injury.
